Wishing a happy birthday to the great Jeff Porcaro. His playing is on full display on this classic Toto tune that closes their album "The Seventh One". So much power, confidence and feel. I learn something from Jeff every time I listen to him. We weren't alive at the same time and I'll never hear or see him live. Though despite those realities, I feel a very deep connection with him and his playing. I can't say that about too many musicians and their impacts. Enjoy!

This past week we celebrated 2 years since the debut release from Chop Robinson, "Unseen". Alex is a dear friend and I am very proud of the work we did on this album, on which I recorded drums for 8 of the 10 tracks. This one in particular is a favorite of mine as the drum part came to me so easily since the song is so great! The verses were kept sparse with contrasting choruses that give it a very grand feeling to emulate the imagery in Alex's lyrics. Enjoy! I had a great run of shows with my pal Gabe Stillman a few weeks backs through New England and Upstate New York. This clip is from our performance at Fanatics Pub in Lima, NY which is a staple spot in the blues scene. I found it to be a fun challenge to solo over this slower second line tempo, and took the opportunities to stretch with the time and subdivisions a bit throughout. Enjoy!
