I was recently listening to a JR Robinson interview where he talked about the recording process of Quincy Jones' "The Dude" album, and how he was told not to use any toms/play any drum fills. When I decided to listen to the record to hear what he played, this track stuck out to me and I fell in love with the song and groove! The toms were not needed or missed!
